The Frozen Dessert Institute has been running monthly courses to assist attendees in opening and running frozen dessert stores about 10 years. The courses initially commenced and ran monthly in Michigan; in October 2005 FDI was moved to the St. Louis Community College. The current location is the Silky's Frozen Custard Store at 15069 Manchester Rd, Ballwin, MO 63011
Over the years the FDI has trained over 750 people and has helped in the establishment of hundreds of frozen dessert stores, both in the US and around the world. The FDI has been attended by students from all over the US and from as far away as Australia, Korea and South Africa.
Staff from the FDI continues to support their students with advice and training techniques designed for store monitoring and growth.
